Gaining employment is a goal for many students. In the workplace, there are various social situations that require insightful responses from employees. For students with disabilities, these scenarios can be very tricky to successfully overcome.

I have created this game to hopefully fill a void - I know I needed something for my students to practice role playing conversations in a structured but realistic and fun way. With this download, you will get the workplace social skills practice you are looking for!! This download provides a template for you to use a Jenga game (or other similar toppling wood blocks game) to transform your in-class instruction. It also gives you the opportunity to integrate a realistic and versatile approach to workplace conversations using a variety of scenarios your students might encounter while working. Reacting appropriately to these prompts can serve to build invaluable soft skills that can result in long-term employment success!

How I Use This In My Classroom:

I print these sheets out on two different colored pieces of bright paper. I then laminate them and tape them onto individual wood blocks. Students take turns coming up to pull blocks out from the tower, but before they put them back on top, they must respond to the scenario written on them. This is such a fun activity that really gets students thinking about employment social skills in a manner that is both hands on and truly engaging.
