Gaining employment is a goal for many students. In the workplace, there are various social situations that require insightful responses from employees. For students with disabilities, these scenarios can be very tricky to successfully overcome.

How I Use This In My Classroom:

Depending on my students' abilities, I like to either do these together as a large group (for students with lower reading/writing skills) or work on them more individually (for students with higher reading/writing skills). Either way, the discussions that come from each social situation in the workplace trigger insightful conversations with every student. It is through these conversations that we delve into deeper topics like workplace friendships, self-advocacy skills, and clear communication as well.
