Want to help kids build some real world reading and math skills but don't know where to begin? Not to worry - you are definitely in the right place! Many teenagers want to learn to drive one day and need help practicing some basic car ownership skills. Things like correctly reading a speedometer and estimating how much gas is left using a gas gauge are all essential skills that directly relate back to the real world.
This activity is specifically formatted to be used with Google Drive and is compatible with Google Classroom. Google Drive is an amazing resource that many educators are now using as an interface to support 1:1 digital instruction in the classroom. I pair it up with Google Classroom (a free website) that allows me to digitally send each student in my class a copy of the worksheets that they later submit to me for grading. Students simply type their responses in the digital boxes and rotate the arrows provided to arrive at the correct answer! It is an amazing paper-free process and the kids LOVE working on these worksheets on the computer.
Use these fun digital task cards to bring learning to life in your classroom! Students are naturally motivated and engaged to complete the tasks, and seldom are aware of the important concepts they are learning in the process!
