Life Skills Reading and Writing: Vocational Interest Assessment - JOBS!
Life Skills Reading and Writing: Vocational Interest Assessment - JOBS!
After working in life skills, I realized how little there is out there to assess students on what their plans are for after high school. At 16, we legally need to start having these conversations on their IEPs. Unfortunately, there are not many appropriate resources out there to get meaningful information from life skills level students.
I created this to create a picture-friendly approach to assessing students on their post-secondary goals after high school. Students enjoy sitting down with me and answering which item they would enjoy more (ex: indoor jobs vs. outdoor jobs). Also with this download you will give students an opportunity to rank how much they like a particular job by shading in smiley faces. I jot down some notes and include their responses on the IEP as well.
This would be the PERFECT print and go download to help with all your transition planning needs!! No more finding reading-intensive sites online - integrate this into your instruction and be prepared for meaningful vocational conversations with your kids for years to come!
Purchase Includes:
- 15 vocational options (with pictures!) for students to select [example: uniform vs. no uniform preference)
- 12 jobs that students rank with either a smiley face, neutral face, or sad face in regards to whether they like them or not.
- 2 pages of recording sheets (great for IEP portfolios)
I have also included TWO versions of this file. The first one has directions that ask students to POINT to the picture. The second file has directions that ask students to CIRCLE the picture.
