Teaching students how to use technology like Google Maps is an increasingly important skill for kids these days to be able to master. Technology has come a long way, and with many phones coming pre-loaded with apps like Google Maps on them, students need to be comfortable to be able to use them independently!

This activity is 100% DIGITAL and is specifically formatted to be used with Google Drive or Google Classroom. Google Drive is an amazing resource that many educators are now using as an interface to support 1:1 digital instruction in the classroom. I pair it up with Google Classroom (a free website) that allows me to digitally send each student in my class a copy of the worksheets that they later submit to me for grading. With this lesson, students are able to type their answers directly onto the digital worksheet. It is an amazing paper-free process and the kids LOVE working on these worksheets on the computer.

This lesson teaches students about the basic features of Google Maps in a simple and visual way. Students are then given a chance to pull meaningful information from randomly selected U.S. landmarks. Please make sure to check out the video preview in this listing to see this product in action!
