Life Skills - Money - Time - Analog Clock - Mystery Picture - Google Sheets
Are you looking for more ways to teach students how to tell time using an analog clock but are running into the same activities over and over again? I noticed students in my life skills classes were getting bored with the traditional worksheets and task cards that had them practice telling time. I created this 100% DIGITAL activity that adds a fun, new twist to real world math skills.
With MYSTERY PICTURES, students practice typing in their answers into boxes. As students answer the questions correctly, a mystery picture AUTOMATICALLY starts emerging on their screen. If their answers are correct, they turn green and some parts of the picture get shown. If their answers are incorrect, they turn red and no new parts of the image show up. No coding or google sheets experience is needed for this activity! Students will need to be able to enter answers in the HH:MM format.
This activity is specifically formatted to be used with Google Drive and is compatible with Google Classroom. Google Drive is an amazing resource that many educators are now using as an interface to support 1:1 digital instruction in the classroom. I pair it up with Google Classroom (a free website) that allows me to digitally send each student in my class a copy of the worksheets that they later submit to me for grading. With this lesson, students get immediate feedback. It is an amazing paper-free process and the kids LOVE working on these worksheets on the computer.
