Using a menu to practice functional math skills is an excellent way for students to practice skills like counting, using money, and budgeting as well. This activity provides students with a menu that has a COFFEE SHOP theme to it that they reference to answer a variety of questions. Two separate levels are provided with your purchase.

This activity is specifically formatted to be used with Google Drive and is compatible with Google Classroom. Google Drive is an amazing resource that many educators are now using as an interface to support 1:1 digital instruction in the classroom. I pair it up with Google Classroom (a free website) that allows me to digitally send each student in my class a copy of the worksheets that they later submit to me for grading. With this lesson, students get to drag and drop a variety of objects into their correct locations. It is an amazing paper-free process and the kids LOVE working on these worksheets on the computer.

The first level has students identify which item costs more from a field of two options. The second level has students use the dollar up strategy to calculate how much money the item will cost. They then drag the correct amount of bills over to the counter. Answers are automatically graded for each response! This is an excellent resource for teachers looking to integrate more real world learning opportunities into their classrooms. Students will enjoy it because it is relevant, age-appropriate material. You'll love it because it is a great NO PREP activity!
