Life Skills - Medicine Safety - Task Box - Reading - Math - Special Education
Teaching students how to read and properly take medicine according to their prescription is a skill that is not traditionally taught in the classroom environment. Helping students acquire this skill can fundamentally help to increase their ability to live a more independent life in the future. By simulating the medicine taking experience with colored beads or pieces of candy, teachers can provide a safe and structured environment to help students practice skills like reading a prescription label, counting pills, and placing them in the correct area in a pill organizer
With this purchase, you will get access to TWO levels of activities to support differentiation for different levels of students in your classroom. The first level has students simply count pills and put them in the correct day. The second level adds more detail and has students count pills and distribute them in the right spots for AM and PM daily. Sample prescription labels are included with your purchase to make this experience even more realistic. Items you will need to purchase to make this activity include: m&m candy or colored beads (red, blue, yellow, green, black, and orange), prescription bottles (optional: you can also use ziplock bags), and a pill organizer with AM/PM labels.
Purchase Includes:
