Life Skills - Medicine Safety - Special Education - Reading - Math
Taking medicine independently is an important life skill for students to master. Since this skill is so crucial for health and safety purposes, students benefit when it is practiced in a safe and structured environment. With this set of BOOM CARDS, students can simulate this experience in a manner that mirrors steps needed to do it independently on their own at home.
Three different types of activities are practiced in this lesson. The first activity has students correctly identify a specific day on a pill organizer. The next activity has students count the correct amount of pills to put inside each compartment. The last lesson has students read a prescription label and identify how many pills go in each compartment of the pill organizer.
