Life Skills Math: Money - Learning to READ Prices with Place Value
Life skills students often struggle to read large numbers correctly. Although many of my students know their place value for three digit numbers, they truly struggle once numbers get into the thousands place. They often confuse the comma and decimal point, and have difficulty taking meaning out of the numbers they are reading.
If this sounds all too familiar, fear no more! I have specifically designed this packet with the strategy I use in my class to support students with this skill. It has been a very successful way to get my students to read numbers correctly.
Please note, this packet requires that students be able to read three digit words independently before they start. This packet focuses on teaching students 4 to 6 digit numbers (thousands and millions place specifically).
Hope this packet is as helpful to you in your classroom as it has been in mine!
