With the temperatures dropping and snow in the forecast, winter is almost upon us! Bring the season into your daily teaching with this fun winter themed activity. Job skills are an essential life skill that many special education students need to practice to help build their independence in the real world. This activity adds a seasonal twist to simple retail tasks like stocking shelves and fulfilling customers' orders.

This activity is specifically formatted to be used with Google Drive and is compatible with Google Classroom. Google Drive is an amazing resource that many educators are now using as an interface to support 1:1 digital instruction in the classroom. I pair it up with Google Classroom (a free website) that allows me to digitally send each student in my class a copy of the worksheets that they later submit to me for grading. With this lesson, students get to drag and drop a variety of objects into their correct locations. It is an amazing paper-free process and the kids LOVE working on these worksheets on the computer.

In this set of GOOGLE SLIDES, students get to practice job skills with a winter themed twist! Students will complete stocking various shelves for retail products that people buy during winter time. This activity has students carefully read the labels to ensure they place them in the correct location on the shelves. Three separate versions are included with your purchase. The first version has students simply stock two different items into the correct location. The second version has students practice sorting a larger variety of items into the correct location. Finally, level three has students complete hot cocoa orders for customers. This is a great, age appropriate activity that provides students with an opportunity to practice job skills in a structured format.
