Many life skills students struggle remembering the names to common grocery items they may encounter while out grocery shopping. By coupling visuals with real world items, this download helps students more easily expand their functional vocabulary skills. This activity is specifically formatted to be used with Google Drive and is compatible with Google Classroom. Google Drive is an amazing resource that many educators are now using as an interface to support 1:1 digital instruction in the classroom. I pair it up with Google Classroom (a free website) that allows me to digitally send each student in my class a copy of the worksheets that they later submit to me for grading. It is an amazing paper-free process and the kids LOVE working on these worksheets on the computer.

The consistent structure of each page helps to keep students with learning disabilities engaged with the content and able to more easily recall answers as well. In this download, students will be given 40 common grocery items that they will be asked to (1) name the item, (2) describe what aisle they can locate it, (3) explain whether it needs to be stored in the fridge, freezer, or pantry, and (4) answer a question about it.
