Life Skills - Cooking - GOOGLE - Using an Oven - Recipe - Food Prep

With this set of DIGITAL task cards, you can help your students practice basic cooking skills while using an oven. Students are presented with simple cooking directions and asked to select the correct oven knob from a field of three options. This activity requires zero prep and provides relevant, real world learning opportunities to students. It is an excellent way to work on functional reading and math skills, while also practicing adaptive skills to promote independence as well.

This activity is specifically formatted to be used with Google Drive and is compatible with Google Classroom. Google Drive is an amazing resource that many educators are now using as an interface to support 1:1 digital instruction in the classroom. I pair it up with Google Classroom (a free website) that allows me to digitally send each student in my class a copy of the worksheets that they later submit to me for grading. It is an amazing paper-free process and the kids LOVE working on these worksheets on the computer.

Cooking is an important life skill and one that many students have difficulty mastering on their own.
