Many special education students struggle calculating totals to multiple items when going shopping. They either have difficulty entering the numbers correctly on a calculator, lack number sense to know when a number is too high / low, or simply do not have the attention to detail needed when transcribing numbers. Because of this, so many students have trouble arriving at a correct total when purchasing items in a store. Help them develop this crucial life skill with this real world oriented download. With this activity, students will have an opportunity to find the total to various FAST FOOD RESTAURANT menu items. Two levels are provided. The first level has students calculate the total of two items together. The second level has students calculate the total of three items. Immediate visual and auditory feedback is given for students' choices on each card. Students will also enjoy it because it is relevant, age-appropriate material. You'll love it because it is a great NO PREP activity!
